10am to 5pm

Celebrate the pumpkin harvest with heaps of activities.

Marking the arrival of autumn pumpkins have come to symbolise harvest all over the world. Rotund, juicy, versatile, and easy to grow, Garden Organic’s Pumpkin Day will teach you more about this delicious harvest time fruit.

All of the activities below will take place in the marquee, except where otherwise indicated




Activity Description Times

Pumpkin Carving:

Buy an organic pumpkin from our pumpkin patch and have it carved into a jack’o lantern for FREE.

10.30am – 12.00pm

1.00pm – 4.00pm

Gourds*

Marvel at the beauty of gourds and find out more about them with a talk from Bryan Haines.

10.45am

3.00pm

Owls

Come and witness the majestic beauty of this nighttime bird of prey.

All Day

Cooking Demonstrations*

Learn how to cook up an Autumn treat using pumpkins

11.30am

Children’s Activities

Make a mini scarecrow, take part in some seed sowing and get messy with other arts and crafts

Creepy Crawly Hunt

Learn more about the little bugs that roam our gardens. Then take part in the creepy crawly hunt to find where the bugs hide.

Felt Making

Get hands on by helping to create a huge piece of felt art with local artist Dot Crowe. The finished felt piece will be hung in our Vegetable Kingdom to celebrate our 50 years of organic growing.

Face Painting

£1 donation per face.

11.00am – 3.00pm

Garden Organic expert advice

Ask our experts for tips, advice and guidance on all things horticultural. While you’re there

why not try guessing the weight of our massive pumpkin to win a hamper of organic goodies.

*Talks and demonstrations will take place on the stage at the foot of the marquee.

Adult £6.60 (includes one child admission free)
Concession £6.00
Additional child £3.30 (age 5-16)
Under 5s FREE

These prices include a 10% donation as part of the gift aid scheme see below for details

Thanks to a government initiative, if you're a UK tax payer, and you make a donation that is 10% more than the basic entry fee, the government will give us an extra 25% of the full gift aid admission. This makes a massive difference to a Charity like Garden Organic. Your extra money goes towards the upkeep of the gardens and our other activities. The prices above include a voluntary 10% donation, which allows us to benefit from an additional 25p in every £1 paid.

If you are not a UK taxpayer or do not wish to make a charitable donation the admission prices are as follows;

Please note that only assistance dogs are permitted within the organic gardens.

Admission to the garden is FREE to RHS and Birmingham Botanical Society (BBS) members - Except on Event Days

Please note : Garden Organic "2 for 1" entry vouchers (and similar) are not valid on event days.
