Training for Teachers
Garden Organic is working in partnership for a second year with the Daylesford Foundation to present organic gardening workshops for teachers and school professionals.
The training events are one day courses based in the kitchen garden at the Daylesford Organic Farmshop, Daylesford, Gloucestershire. Teachers will develop their organic gardening knowledge and skills and be able to see large-scale organic growing in situ in the kitchen garden.
With the kind support of the Daylesford Foundation, the sessions are free of charge and include lunch.
Garden Organic’s Head of Education Colette Bond says, “We are delighted to be able to use such a fantastic venue to inspire and educate people. The more teachers we can engage in growing the more skills will be passed on to the youngsters they work with. The sessions we ran last year were very well received.”
Course programme:
- 11 Oct 2011 “ From Plot to Pot: Planning What to Grow An opportunity to plan what to grow in a school garden, from seed sowing to harvest, including vegetables and herbs. Suitable for new school gardeners.
