The Garden Organic Sowing New Seeds project will be putting on a number of events in the Midlands this autumn to celebrate exotic produce, share knowledge, and get everybody seed saving in anticipation of next year’s growing season.

The calendar kicks off with the Exotic Crop Fair on Saturday 15th September 12 to 5pm at our Warwickshire home, Ryton Gardens. At the event visitors will have the chance to find out everything about growing, saving seed and cooking exotic crops and can enjoy guided tours of Ryton's new exotic display garden. We also have guest speakers from heirloom seed company, RealSeeds, and a chance for kids (or adults!) to pet an alpaca! More info here.

Throughout the autumn months we are also putting on seed saving workshops and Indian cooking demonstrations in a number of locations. The seed saving workshops will provide training on how to save seeds from crops, keep varieties pure and how to extract and maintain a collection. The cooking demonstrations will show how to prepare authentic Gujerati dishes using some of the more unusual produce that can be grown in the UK and that has been collected by our project. Check our project website for details.
