Farm size: 405 hectares (1000 acres) of which 304 ha, 750 ac farmed, all converted in one step

Soil type/aspect: soil is a sandy loam, site gently sloping with some steep fields
Basic rotation: winter wheat, oats, beans or lupins, winter wheat undersown with red clover ley
Enterprises: main enterprises are beef suckler herd and sheep, progeny through to finished animals, 90 beef cows and 300 breed ewes. Have around 25 horses rising to 50 with winter liveries. Crops: 20 ha (49 ac) wheat for seed (Nickersons), 25 ha (62 ac) oats (Morning Foods), 9 ha (22 ac) spring barley undersown with red clover, 10 ha (25 ac) lupins (seed to Soya UK), 25 ha (62 ac) red clover set aside, 220 ha (544 ac) permanent grassland, 7 ha (17 ac) wild bird cover, 5 ha (12 ac) conservation strips, 10 ha (25 ac) parkland, 2 ha (5 ac) vegetables
Prior land use: was pasture and arable conventionally farmed
Weeding equipment: have an Opico tine harrow 6 m and a 9 ft Record topper with vertical blades and one with horizontal blades. Both rear mounted
Business: one farm manger, one general worker, use contractors and casual labour. Difficult to source labour, usually foreigners or schoolchildren
