Soil type/aspect: soil type is variable from clay to alluvial medium loam on the river banks. Site is sloping generally S facing
Basic rotation: rotation has been simplified due to market now 3 years red or white clover ley, winter wheat, winter beans either oats and back to ley or wheat then oats
Enterprises: 55% grass (1/3rd permanent 2/3rd in rotational leys) 45% arable use. Have 1000 ewes and grow wheat, beans and oats
Prior land use: conventionally farmed arable and sheep farm with a rotational ley system
Weeding equipment: has a 12 m Einbok harrow and a 2.8 m Kuhn rear mounted mower
Business: 1 farmer and partner and 1 part time worker (50%).
Marketing: some lamb back to conventional market because cannot find market some to Premier, some to Wotton Organics. Just joined Grain Link so cereals will go to Dean Foods
