This has happened to our horse in NZ. We had lots of cats ear in the paddock and had no idea till the horse started displaying the symptoms you suggest that the cats ear had caused it. We have moved her and like you hope it will wear its way out of her system with no long term effects. We also are giving her a liver detox and equiguard that detoxes the bowel plus 2 or 3 other things in her feed. Vets advice and of course she is in another paddock with no cats ear
