Winning schools will be able to pick from one of the following prizes.

Either

A visit from an organic gardening expert.

This can be to advise on an aspect of the school garden, working with the staff and/or children.

OR

A class visit to our site in Coventry, West Midlands or Yalding, Kent (restrictions will apply to this option)

OR

A prize of gardening equipment and environmental sound products including:

Link-a-Bord is a unique modular system. The double skinned board is easily fitted together with plastic links that allow a wide variety of constructions to be made. E.g. Compost bins, raised vegetable or flowerbeds, window boxes, plant containers, whelping boxes, pet runs etc.

The board is made almost entirely from recycled upvc and its double skinned construction helps to maintain a stable growing temperature. It is simple joined together by straight or corner links, the whole system being locked into place with dowels and caps.

Set of hand tools

A set of deluxe hand tools from the new Duchy Garden Tool range, due to be launched in Spring 2006. The tools have been crafted using Victorian designs and combine fine materials with British craftsmanship. They are made using wood from the Duchy of Cornwall estates.

HappyMais - ecological modelling material

Happy Mais ecological toy

HappyMais is an ecological toy made from Mater-Bi™, a natural GM-free corn startch material that is totally biodegradable and compostable. Just moisten a piece of HappyMais and it will magically stick to another piece. You do not need any glue. Fun bright colours with non-toxic food colouring and easy to use!

As one mother says, "My daughter is like any other, when she asks to do painting or glueing, I know there is going to be a very large mess for me to clean up afterwards! So I have to say my prayers were answered when I had the opportunity to try HappyMais.. a small damp sponge, templates and a box of HappyMais and we were off..no mess, easy to use and my daughter was able to create all sorts of things, without constant input or help from me!...my walls are covered in HappyMais pictures.. but that is a very small price to pay!
