The Observer Magazine Scarecrow competition

Win a beehive compost bin
Design a scarecrow to help in The Observer Magazine Organic Allotment
The Observer Magazine Organic Allotment has a problem. Greedy pigeons
are eating our rocket, cabbages and kales. We've tried scaring them away
with a hawk-shaped kite (too friendly), cat's eyes drawn on CD's (too
ugly) and by fencing in the crops with canes (too gappy). What we really
need is a scary scarecrow. And fast! So we are asking all schools to
send in their designs to us as soon as possible or we will have no plants
left. And the winning entry will receive a beautiful beehive compost bin
from Wiggly Wiggers (pictured).
Entries by email to allotment@observer.co.uk (please mark them Scarecrow)
or by post to:
Scarecrow,
Observer Magazine,
3-7 Herbal Hill
London EC1 5EJ
by July 18, please. The competition judges will be Allan Jenkins, editor
of the Observer magazine and Richard Fishbourne from Natural Gardening
Company Wiggly Wigglers.
Good Luck!
