Different ways to view the site
Located in the 'Viewing options' box on this page and also on the home page, these buttons will instantly change how the website looks.
- Text only - removes all images and complex formatting of pages. You have the option of black text on white background or yellow text on a black background.
- Default - the site (more or less) as the webmaster intended it to look.
- Contrast - the same layout as for default but with a higher contrast, background is predominantly ivory yellow with black text.
- My style - removes most settings that effect font size, font type and text and background colours. Choosing this scheme will result in the website reflecting your own browser settings.
The viewing options can also be displayed at any time by following the 'viewing options' link at the top of every page. If you would like to suggest another viewing scheme for this website that may help with your particular needs, please email the webmaster
Skip to main content link
There is a hidden 'skip to navigation' link at the top of every page on this website. Although it is not visible (except when the Text only scheme is selected), it will be spoken by screen-reading software. The purpose of this link is to enable you to skip past the rest of the menu items and position yourself at the start of the main page content.
AAA Certification
The main website has been designed and tested to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C's) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Our pages have passed the automatic tests for Priority 1, 2 and 3 accessibility checkpoints. Our site has been tested using JAWs screen-reader software.
Please note: Our Organic Gardens for Schools Project website is still undergoing conversion to AAA certification.
Changing the look of our website
We have worked hard to try to ensure that our website can be viewed in the way you would choose to view it. The design is such that, should you decide to increase or decrease the font size, for instance, the site will re-arrange itself to accomodate your changes. A lot of websites are designed with fixed-sized text which cannot be resized - this is not the case with ours.
Should you wish to change the text size, the following table gives the menu and keyboard shortcut options for a selection of major browsers.
