Attracting wildlife & building biodiversity

Ryton Organic Gardens
Thursday, 15 March 2018 -
1:30pm to 4:30pm

Attracting the right wildlife to your garden is vital to manage many pests and diseases organically. Join us for this practical afternoon of learning more about what you need to do to make your garden or growing space as wildlife-friendly as possible.

You’ll take a walk around Ryton Organic Gardens with one of our wildlife experts to discover the different habitats used here, spot some of the birds, beasts and insects you may find in your own garden, and learn how to encourage more to join them. Part of the afternoon will involve pond-dipping to discover what beneficial wildlife can be found in garden ponds, how they can help you with your organic growing, and how to create your own wildlife pond.

You will also have the opportunity to make an insect hotel to take home and start welcoming wildlife into your own garden.
