If you’re new to seed saving this course offers the perfect starting block.
Introduction to Seed Saving gives you the guidance you need to learn how to save seed from tomatoes, peas, French beans, lettuce, and peppers (or other seasonal vegetables).
We cover why seed saving is important, especially in the organic garden. We also look at annuals, biennials and perennials, and how they’re pollinated. In addition we guide you through the whole seed saving process including cleaning, drying and storage methods for various vegetable types.
Practical activities will include cleaning tomato seeds, peas, French beans, lettuce and peppers.
We will complete the course with a behind the scenes tour of the Heritage Seed Library.
Skill level: Beginner
