NEW AFTERNOON SESSION

Get into the festive spirit and have fun using materials from our gardens to make natural decorations. You will be shown how to weave your own willow wreath that you can then decorate with items from the gardens, and learn how to identify suitable materials in your own garden and elsewhere for use in decorations.

We will look at making table decorations, wall hangings and other ideas for natural decorations. There will also be discussion around the benefi ts of home-grown, compostable decorations versus less sustainable options.

This course is led by Judith Conroy, a former gardener at Ryton Organic Gardens who helped to build and maintain some of the willow hedges on site. She believes that winter wouldn’t be winter without cutting willow for use in a wide variety of crafts, and looks forward to showing you how to make best use of natural materials to make your home look beautifully festive.

“A very enjoyable afternoon getting Christmassy, not much else needed!”

You will get to take at least one large wreath home with you just in time for Christmas!

This course is aimed at beginners.
