Course Leader: Sally Cunningham

Ever wondered what wildlife you have living in your garden?

Encouraging wildlife into your garden, will give you a fantastic insight into which creatures - birds, bugs, mammals and amphibians may visit or live in your growing patch.

We’ll look at the specific creatures, what they’re doing there, why they might want to come to your garden rather than next door (especially if you're an organic gardener!) and what you can do to encourage them further.

It doesn’t matter if you grow in pots in a backyard, a window box or an allotment, it’s exciting to know that you can encourage all sorts of wildlife into each area, all year round – from a moth to a bat, a robin or a bumble bee.

As part of the course you will also make your own insect hotel to take away, have a go at a pond-dip and discover how to spot what’s been wandering about!
