Wilder for Wellbeing
Garden Organic and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust have joined forces in a partnership bid to secure public funding which would allow us to support the local communities and wildlife disrupted by the construction of HS2 through Warwickshire and parts of Coventry and Solihull
The project application has successfully reached the final stages, and we now need to gather your input and demonstrate demand for our project – Wilder for Wellbeing.
The online questionnaire can be found here and a map showing the project area, 5km either side of the track here
Wilder for Wellbeing is a proposed three-year partnership project (starting in 2020) between Garden Organic and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. We want to support local communities by developing a great project that stems from your ideas. We want to work in partnership with existing community groups and organisations in the area, to improve everyone’s wellbeing and to have a positive impact for wildlife.
The project aims to deliver a programme of wildlife and growing themed activities to engage, enthuse and support communities closest to the HS2 development.
Types of activities will include:
- Wildlife gardening support and workshops
- Wildlife surveying and events
- Training for local people in practical skills e.g. pond building and composting
- School assemblies and work place talks
- Healthy outdoor themed activities and volunteering
We have a simple questionnaire that we are encouraging as many individuals, community groups and organisations to complete. Your feedback will be used to make sure our project meets the needs of local communities and that your suggestions are incorporated in the final project delivery.
A map can be downloaded here, showing the project area, 5km either side of the track.
The online questionnaire can be found here
Please feel free to distribute this questionnaire to your networks in the project area, the more responses we receive the better we can make our proposal.
