Renowned as the best cultivated white carrot, originally introduced in the 1800s for stock feed but delicious enough for table use. Has a well-developed flavour that is mild and crisp, equal to any orange carrot. Produces pure white roots with green shoulders that show above ground. High yielding and carrot fly resistant. Good for those who cannot tolerate carotene. Mentioned by Vilmorin (1885) and listed in Suttons catalogue of 1852.
