We work with sectors including education, healthcare, local authorities, Public Health, NHS, housing associations, businesses and community groups to provide support for volunteer champions in your setting.
We know people are best influenced by family, friends, neighbours or work colleagues who understand their circumstances and local needs – and it’s for these reasons our volunteers provide a unique and vital role.
Our volunteers are from many backgrounds and age groups, but their unifying feature is their enthusiasm for organic growing, composting and waste reduction. They are brilliant at engaging with and making a difference in their neighbourhood.
The volunteers assist with event preparation, training and resources – and they’re available for a chat and a cup of tea when required!

Our volunteer coordinators
Garden Organic employ a team of friendly and helpful coordinators to support our volunteers and work alongside them and their communities.
We also provide inspiring, face-to-face and online training programmes for our volunteers based on their needs and interests.
Master Composters are volunteers who spend time promoting home composting in their local community, encouraging householders to take up composting and ensuring those already composting do so effectively.
Our Master Gardener volunteers support individuals to grow food in their gardens, allotments, on windowsills, or in workplaces and other community growing spaces.
Waste Reduction volunteers
Our waste reduction volunteer-led public education programme provides a suite of resources and public engagement activities to be delivered to community groups and schools.
