Sweet Brooksby

Indeterminate. Cordon. Donated to HSL by Rob Croft. He acquired it from someone whose brother had bred “a stable, sweet tomato” in 1962 at Brooksby Agricultural College, Leicestershire. It has been grown by family and friends since this time. Tomatoes are red and marble-sized with an exceptionally sweet flavour. Guardians on the Melton Community Allotment found that it made delicious soup and pasta sauce, as well as impressing visitors to the allotment who tried it.
