Captain Planet Foundation
The Captain Planet Foundation is a grant-making foundation that has funded over 2,600 hands-on environmental education projects with schools and non-profits that serve children in all 50 U.S. states and in 25 countries internationally. More than 1.4 million children have directly participated in and benefited from these educational projects.

Since 2011, over 340 learning gardens have been set up in the USA, across 10 States.  With CPF’s help and guidance, we have successfully piloted Project Learning Garden in 30 UK schools, across the London Boroughs of Bexley, Southwark and Merton.

The mission of the Captain Planet Foundation™ is to give the next generation of environmental stewards an active understanding and love for the natural world in which they live.

For over twenty-five years, they have been activating generations of environmentally literate citizens empowered to protect and sustain the natural systems upon which all life depends. Through their four main program areas, Captain Planet Foundation™ invests in high-quality, solution-based projects that inspire and teach youth to become collaborators and agents of change.

Seeds of Change
Seeds of Change has generously funded a pilot of Project Learning Garden in the UK. This has provided support, training and kits for 30 schools across the London Boroughs of Merton, Bexley and Southwark. The kits include gardening, cooking and curriculum resources and raised beds or garden vouchers.

Seeds of Change began as a small organic seed farm in the USA in 1989 with a simple mission: ‘To make real, healthy, organic food accessible to all’. Since then it has grown into a successful organic food business, with a range of cooking sauces, pasta sauces, pasta and rice and grains products, available across the UK. Seeds of Change donates 1% of sales to make real, healthy, delicious food accessible to all, which goes to support projects like Project Learning Garden.

VITAMIX
Vitamix has generously provided blenders to 30 schools this year, across Merton, Bexley and Southwark. 9 schools said the Vitamix was their favourite piece of equipment:

My favourite part of the kit is the cooking equipment as our school had little equipment for pupils to use in classes.

Vitamix has been preparing fresh, natural ingredients, generation after generation, since 1921. Founded on the belief that whole-food ingredients are the key to a vibrant life, this family-owned company aims every new product innovation at better, faster, easier preparation of delicious, homemade meals. Our unmatched versatility allows you to make hundreds of recipes with this single appliance, while our unparalleled performance means you'll be enjoying your investment for years to come.

My favourite part of the kit is the cooking kit, especially the blender

Each machine is built by hand at our headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, USA to ensure our high quality standards are never compromised. Though Vitamix offers blenders in a variety of styles, every machine is designed to perform these core techniques, plus many others.

  • Juicing: Make fresh fruit and vegetable juices with the nutritional benefits of whole foods.
  • Blending: Create everything from smoothies and frozen drinks to hummus.
  • Prepping Ingredients: Quickly cut vegetables, hard boiled eggs, and cheeses for any recipe, using the speed dial to adjust from coarse to fine. Add water to create a more uniform cut.
  • Frozen Desserts: Make fresh fruit sorbets, yoghurts and homemade ice creams in just 1 minute.
  • Heating: The blades move fast enough to create friction heat, bringing savoury soups and gravies, or sweet fondues and cocoa, to serving temperatures inside the container.
  • Milling: Prepare fresh, whole-grain flours for homemade baked goods.
  • Emulsifying: Create signature marinades and dressings.

Self-Cleaning: Full-size blenders clean themselves in 60 seconds or less with a drop of washing-up liquid and warm water. No disassembly required.
