Up-to-Date

Originally introduced in the 19th century by R Britton & Sons Seeds, Northampton. Apple-shaped with rather square shoulders and a rounded base. The skin is a deep yellow, the flesh creamy and strong flavoured. A good storage onion and supposed to show resistance to white rot. Barrs Seed catalogue (1927) describes it as “in every way a model onion.”
