We offer training for amateur, early career and professional gardeners, as well as public sector organisations, schools, prisons, social care providers, and community groups.

In person training
Our network of experienced horticulturalists, seed savers, composters, soil scientists and sector-specific experts are available to provide sessions that are adapted to your requirements. Sessions can be delivered face-to-face at our headquarters at Ryton and at venues throughout the UK, and can be tailored to suit any budget.

Online training
Our online, self-guided training options give you the freedom to explore our organic growing courses whenever and wherever it suits you. Developed and delivered by our team of organic horticultural experts, each course features clear video lessons, topic workbooks with interactive quizzes, and practical activities designed to apply directly in your own growing space. With no time limits, you can learn at your own pace and return to the materials whenever you wish.

Elevate your horticultural knowledge with our Introduction to Organic Growing online certificate. Our new online certificate has been carefully designed for both early career gardeners and amateur growers keen to expand their skills in organic growing.

Whether you’re seeking to enhance your career prospects or refine your skills, this certificate provides a solid foundation in sustainable horticulture.

Led by expert horticulturist Chris Collins DHE. MSc dip. MCI Hort. FCGI. you will work through a series of self-guided online modules that cover the key principles and practical approaches to organic growing. You’ll also have access to three seasonal webinars, led by Chris, giving you the chance to meet fellow learners and discuss course content with our expert instructors.

The certificate is delivered online, offering a flexible approach to study. You can learn at your own pace, revisit materials as needed with 12-month access and fit your studies around other commitments. By the end, you’ll have developed a broader understanding of organic growing and the confidence to put your learning into practice.
