Other information

Avon Organic Group (AOG) is the local group in Bristol, set up in 1984, for everyone who is interested in organic gardening and organic foods.

Regular meetings are held from September to May (excl.December), with speakers on a wide range of subjects of interest to members. In summer there are group visits to organic gardens, allotments and other events.

AOG promotes organic growing (and the Group) at local festivals and events and sells produce grown by its members. Members may also sell their own produce at AOG meetings with a share of proceeds going to the group.

AOG holds an annual seed swap (including heritage seeds), a plant sale and a group seed order for members, who receive substantial discounts on the purchase of seeds and other items from the Organic Gardening Catalogue.

Come along and exchange ideas, learn or just enjoy the company of likeminded people in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

AOG keeps members informed by email of our own and other forthcoming meetings and events. It aims to produce a newsletter twice a year, keeping members up-to-date, including information, articles, recipes, wanted/for sale items etc.

AOG members have the option of discounted membership of Horfield Organic Community Orchard, which began as an AOG project in 1998.
