Perfect to hang from a wall or tree if you don't have space for a more traditional habitat.

You can hang it from a wall or tree and it provides a quick and fun project to upcycle old hanging baskets.

You'll need:

  • Two wire hanging baskets
  • Large piece of cardboard
  • Natural materials such as pine cones, straw, seed heads, broken terracotta pots and pieces of bamboo cane
  • String or wire

Method:

  1. Pack all your items into the two hanging baskets making sure nothing will fall out but that there are plenty of nooks and crannies for creatures to nest in.
  2. Cover one basket with the sheet of cardboard and sandwich it together with the other basket – the cardboard stops everything falling out!
  3. Remove the cardboard, secure the two baskets together and hang up.

Your hanging habitat will be the perfect home for flying creatures such as bees, ladybirds and beetles.
