Tune in tonight! Don't miss BBC Gardeners World tonight at 8pm - as the team head to Birmingham for BBC Gardeners' World Live. We're hoping our award-winning Ecotalk 'Rooted in Nature' garden might be featured. Learn more about the programme and how to watch below.

Tune in to Gardeners' World at 8pm on 13 June, repeated Saturday at 8am.

We're delighted our Ecotalk Rooted In Nature garden has been awarded a 'Silver Merit' award in the Showcase Garden category during Gardeners' World Live.

The judges commented on the fact the garden is 'packed with ways to help nature thrive', alongside inspiring ideas to grow your own food. The award is testament to the hard work of the garden team and designers Emma O'Neill, our head gardener, and Chris Collins, our head of organic horticulture.

Inspired by our research paper, Every Garden Matters, the garden showcases how diversely planted kitchen gardens can provide fresh organic food while supporting wildlife.

We offer practical inspiration on how you can maximise wildlife habitats in your growing space, while managing water resources and growing fresh organic produce, emphasising that even small spaces can make a significant environmental impact.

The garden features a veg bed interspersed with companion plants, a pond brimming with wildlife, a rain garden, composting area, a range of wildlife habitats and plenty of seating areas to pause and relax.

Everything within the garden can be replicated, with low cost or DIY projects - we hope you'll be inspired to recreate it at home!

Homely habitats for garden wildlife 🔗

In our Ecotalk Rooted in Nature garden, insect habitats are a key feature. An unmissable giant bug hotel donated by The Wildlife Community is displayed at the heart of the garden, and a wildlife pond surrounded by clever bug-friendly elements such as rot holes, frog rocks and hoverfly lagoons introduces a variety of water-loving critters to the garden. A composting bay comes complete with a bee house, and lizards and snakes are encouraged with a hibernaculum and alpine-filled ‘vertical rockery’.
