Information for beginners

Our aim at LOG is to further the cause and practice of organic gardening. We also enjoy learning from each other at our social meetings ‘at home’ and visits to places of interest.

We have an annual seed swap in January; in April we have a fundraising talk by a prominent speaker, together with stalls and a café and in October we have apple pressing to make juice from your own apples. All are held in the town centre and are open to the public. Our monthly Growers Market stall is in the town centre from May to September, to showcase our group and swap excess plants and produce.

Our members are also involved with local projects such as the Town Gardeners, who look after the town centre flower beds and some containers; mentoring new growers and encouraging biodiversity in public spaces; plus the management of the family learning allotment on a local council estate.

We have no fixed 'base' or time schedule. Entry to special events and talks will be extra, though discounted for members. We don't currently have a website; however, you can also follow Letchworth Organic Gardeners on Facebook @GIYOLetchworth.

Subscription information

There is an annual subscription cost of £5 for LOG.
