We have 65 years of expertise in citizen science and research into organic growing - and we'd love you to be part of our latest projects.

Resilient Greens

Members can get involved in a project to learn more about the resilience of our heritage varieties. We'd like to get a better understanding of how heritage greens, such as kale, can contribute to resilience in an increasingly unpredictable climate.

We'll be evaluating several varieties of heritage kale in a range of locations to analyse their hardiness over a number of growing seasons.

Garden Organic members can find out more and sign up before 17 April here.

Build a better veg planner

Have you looked at a veg planner or the back of a seed packet and wondered whether the information applied to your region of the country? We would like to set up a standardised way of regularly recording key events during the growing season in a range of locations.

We're asking people all around the UK to keep a record of key stages in a standardised climbing French bean crop over a number of growing seasons. This will help us provide better regional specific growing information and also, over time, observe longer term trends in a changing climate.

This experiment is open to the public - and available on the Fryd app, which means you can download the app and input your results as you garden!
