Kempsey

Syn. Offenham Kempsey. The listing in the 1991 edition of Yates Seed Catalogue suggests that this variety is a good alternative for the popular variety Wintergreen, but has a slightly more compact growth pattern. Cropping through autumn into spring, we found that it produces plants with lots of leafy growth, ideal for spring greens, and will need plenty of growing space. When cleaned, heads can weigh more than 2kg.
