Ugandan Asian, Mr Jefwa, acquired these seeds when visiting a friend in Zealand in the late 1990s. At home, it was found to be a tasty edible crop and he continued to grow it and save seeds. Also beautiful as an ornamental with dark purple-red flower spikes.
