Egmont Gold

Originally from Yates of Australia this tapering, pale orange, main-crop variety is good for late sowing. It was brought back from New Zealand by the gardener at the Bishop’s Palace, Wells, in 1998. Described in 1967 in the Pedigree Seeds Catalogue as “without doubt the most tender and fully flavoured main crop carrot offered”.
