Australian Brown

Originally grown as Brown Spanish, but brought from Australia in 1894 and renamed Australian Brown by the famous seed merchant Washington Atlee Burpee. A medium sized, early maturing, flattened globe variety with a thick, chestnut brown skin and strong-flavoured yellowish flesh. A good keeper.
