Pea
New this year
Avi Juan
Donated by Seed Guardian Adam Alexander, who was given seeds of this pea by a Catalonian friend, Jesus Vargas. The variety was bred in the 1960s by Jesus's grandfather and named after his grandmother; their family were the only people growing this variety until it was shared with Adam. It produces tall vines (>2m) with large, white flowers, mostly borne in pairs and very attractive to bees. The pods are large and full, containing around 10 sweet, tasty peas in each.
