Big Ben

Syn. Harrison Glory. Thought to date to before 1855, this variety was available as far afield as New Zealand and the USA by 1860. It is a dwarf, early/second early variety growing to around 1m in height. White flowers are followed by plump pods in abundance. Thought also to show some resistance to fusarium wilt. Seed Guardian, Stephanie Keeble describes it as, "a good, hardy pea" and found that it did well in an otherwise poor year for peas.
