Pea
Stephens
Originating in Yorkshire this variety looks like a pea, but has quite a beany flavour. Tall (>2m) and vigorous, it produces bicoloured purple and maroon flowers followed by a substantial crop of purple pods. HSL Member Jayne Hill has grown this variety in Cockermouth, Cumbria and has found that they crop from June until well into September. They are perfect for making mushy peas once mature.
