Successful Composting Workshop

During the workshop, we will show you how to refine the composting process to make the best quality compost regardless of what bin you’re using or the size of heap you have. We’ll also explore how to best use your compost in your growing space and demonstrate the composting system we use in our organic demonstration garden. There will also be plenty of time to ask your composting and organic growing questions. 

Topics covered:

  • How to make the best quality compost
  • How compost benefits your soil and soil life
  • How to optimise the use of compost within your garden
  • The workshop will include a tour of our organic demonstration garden - you can read more about our garden here.

Skill level: Beginner/Intermediate

You will need to bring: Please bring suitable outdoor wear and footwear

About your course Leader: Dr Anton Rosenfeld, Knowledge Officer
Anton has been with Garden Organic for over 15 years. His work has ranged from projects with commercial field-scale growers to small-scale community gardens and allotments. He has worked as a grower, runs many training courses, and regularly writes for Grow Your Own and Kitchen Garden magazine. He has a passion for soils, composting, and growing veg from a wide range of cultures and horizons. 

Our workshop will have an informal, relaxed learning environment with plenty of opportunities for interaction. We will also provide a complete set of notes and handouts in advance.
