I grew up on a hobby farm in rural Australia surrounded by nature and endless outdoor adventures. After completing a Bachelor of Business at Cornell University (AIHS Australian campus) I moved to London in my early 20s and held a range of positions (including PA to Director of Law, Governance and Procurement for the London Olympic Bid, and IT Service Desk Analyst at Experian) before embarking on a career in digital consultancy.
My experience began with managing social media accounts and associated digital campaigns for international brands at Edelman and Leo Burnett before moving into User Experience Design and Service Design consultancy at Accenture and Transport for London. This culminated in a Lead Mentor role with Google and my own consultancy company. Although I enjoyed improving online experiences for end-users, I’d become very aware of the climate crisis and wanted to do something with a more positive impact.
I volunteered with the Wildlife Trust and joined Garden Organic to learn how to garden sustainably and support wildlife. I then obtained my RHS Level 2 Diploma and relocated to North Yorkshire for a job with the National Trust managing a sustainable garden redesign project. The project is now complete and it is a pleasure to share it with over 70k annual visitors who can take ideas and inspiration into their own growing spaces.
My learning continues as I delve into the study of soil health restoration and regenerative organic solutions, along with turning my allotment into a mini-demonstration garden. I enjoy meeting innovators making positive change and connecting people and ideas, something I plan to do more of via my passion project called Pubs for the Planet.
