I have spent most of my working life in the Broadcast and Content industries, with a mixture of creative, technology, operational and commercial roles. I was Director of Technology for the Granada Group and Global Chief Technology Officer at the BBC before setting up my own consultancy helping companies and organisations deliver transformation through the use of technology.
I worked with several organisations in the charitable sector – Museums, Children’s Charities and Innovation charities.
For the past 8 years I have been Chair of the Silk Heritage Trust and have experience in grant fund raising and charity governance. I am also Chair of a technology PLC
I am a passionate gardener with 45 years of experiencing success, failure, starting again and redesign. I have built gardens from scratch and redeveloped existing gardens. I’m currently working with around 4 acres of garden and pasture land set high up on the western edge of the Peak district in Cheshire. Not a gardening environment for the faint hearted!! I have been growing fully organically for the past 5 years.
My membership of Garden organic grew out of observing the open countryside around me and seeing the need for sustainable practices in horticulture and farming to ensure responsible stewardship in the face of changing weather patterns and other threats to the countryside, while balancing the needs of a rural community.
