Nikki holds the title of Royal Horticultural Society Master of Horticulture and has a diploma in professional garden design from the Cotswold Gardening School.

I’m Nicola Hope, a consultant organic horticulturalist, planting focussed garden designer, writer and speaker. I hold the prestigious title of RHS Master of Horticulture and I’m based in Malmesbury, in the Cotswolds. I have been a professional organic gardener for a long and extremely happy time. I have been self-employed for the last 15 years, and prior to that I worked alongside inspiring gardeners in special gardens including Highgrove, Lake House, The Abbey House and Cole Park.

I offer garden consultations, garden and planting design services, present lectures on various gardening topics (always with strong organic and ecological themes), and I write, however, my favourite part of the job has always been outright, straight-down-the-line, out there in all elements gardening.

Talk topics:
1. Organic Gardening ~ Happy Plants, Happy minds… I take you through a full gardening year in the big garden where I work. Plenty of tips, beautiful flowers and juicy vegetables.
2. Talking Tomatoes… I adore tomatoes and have grown them for myself and clients for many years. Growing tricks aplenty and lots of great variety recommendations. 3. Tales from the Potting Shed… a whirlwind tour of the gardens which I’ve worked in and how they have all influenced the way I work and design today, with tips and tales along the way.
4. Designing an organic garden… a mix of veg gardens and ornamental gardening information with loads of garden design tips and tricks for a pleasing and productive garden.
5. No-Dig and Polyculture in your Garden… A detailed look at sustainable soil improvement and growing methods that I have used to produce fantastic fruit, vegetables and cut flowers in my own small garden and other larger Cotswold gardens.
6. Every Garden Matters - a blueprint for boosting backyard biodiversity... an important talk written in collaboration with Garden Organic, detailing how gardeners can all play a part in halting biodiversity loss, no matter how big or how small our gardens. Based on the report of the same name published by Garden Organic in 2024.
7. Compost workshop – an in depth investigation into several different composting methods to suit gardens of all shapes and sizes. I aim to show that almost everyone can find a method of composting to suit different gardens, lifestyles, and aesthetic tastes… and that it is great fun.
