This is a fairly new community garden, established in 2024 but already productive and well-used by the garden coordinator and project volunteers and frequently viewed and visited by customers to the adjoining farm shop and café.
The veg produced in the garden is sold at the farm shop and/or used to make meals in the café and any surplus is made available to the garden volunteers. The Compost Demonstration Site is incorporated into the raised garden beds with signs well placed on the sides of these for visitors to clearly see and read. Garden waste generated by the garden is composted in the demonstration bins as well as some food waste generated in the onsite café and farm shop and the compost produced is used on the community garden, improving the soil and creating a closed loop cycle.
